Poughkeepsie City Schools Will Be Closed Again Due To Threat

Poughkeepsie City Schools will be closed for a second straight day on Thursday, March 1 as the investigation of a threat posted on social media continues.

"The Poughkeepsie City School District’s focus is on the safety of our students and staff," the district said in a statement on Wednesday. "Please be assured that every threat is taken seriously until law enforcement informs us otherwise.

"We are working closely with the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department and the FBI, as they are the authorities continuing to investigate the recent social media post regarding the threat of a school shooting at Poughkeepsie High School."
